Organizers of the Hello Stavanger conference was so kind as to invite me over to do a talk called “Software As A Weapon - how software is destroying our worlds”.

The talk itself wasn’t recorded, however I wanted to share some of the background material used to research the talk enabling you to do your own research and go even deeper on this.

The introduction of the talk was two different history lessons on computers and software, where the conventional history was covered before moving on to different perspective on the same period.

Here are some of the links behind the history lesson of computers and it’s close relationship with war.

WhatsApp lynchgings and genocide

Meta has a record of being complicit in different kinds of human suffering. From the misinformation campaigns leading to lynchings to the Myanmar genocide.

Their use as a surveilance platform and collaboration with the Israeli Occupation Forces is also a topic for study. With their enormous power, they are also purposfully supressing Palestinian voices.

Uyghur Genocide

China has been using technology to perform a genocide on it’s Uyghur people.

Gaza genocide
